Gregg joins Kaiser Permanente’s Regional Office in Rockville, Maryland as vice president of communications and external relations. Gregg will oversee government relations, internal communications, media relations, and community giving. “Communications plays a vital role in this organization,” says Gregg. “I am eager to strengthen our current ties, explore new relationships as Kaiser Permanente continues to help surrounding communities thrive by helping residents live healthier lives.” “Gregg’s leadership skills fit the challenges and opportunities that Kaiser Permanente faces with its internal and external audiences," reflects Marilyn J. Kawamura, president of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Mid-Atlantic States, Inc. “Her extensive communications background, expertise in philanthropy and media relations, and passionate belief in our mission, make her the ideal professional to lead Kaiser Permanente’s communications and external relations team.” Most recently, Gregg was the principal in her own consulting firm, SRG Consulting, working with nonprofit organizations such as the Washington Area Women’s Foundation and the National Education Association. Prior to SRG Consulting, Gregg served as partner in Venture Philanthropy Partners, a Washington, DC organization in the emerging field of high-engagement grant-making. Previously, Gregg was the communications director at The Enterprise Foundation, and the United Negro College Fund; and was director of public affairs and marketing for the Washington Hospital Center. Gregg began her career as a reporter for The Washington Post before becoming the southern bureau chief of U.S. News & World Report. Gregg earned her bachelor’s degree from Douglass College at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey and was a post-graduate journalist in residence for the University of Michigan. She is a 2003 graduate of Leadership Washington, and complements her education and experience with numerous local professional affiliations, including Washington Grantmakers. ###
