News release: Colorado - Denver/BoulderOctober 18, 2004 For more information, call: Record number of Kaiser Permanente physicians named among Denver's top docs Denver, CO – A record number of Kaiser Permanente physicians have been selected among the best in their areas of specialty in Denver's 2004 Top Doctors survey in 5280 magazine.
This year marks the highest number of Kaiser Permanente physicians ever selected in one year. Joining the list for the first time are: Drs. Allen-Davis, Williams and Coughlin. All others made repeat appearances this year. "The outstanding quality of the physicians named in the 5280 survey represents the kind of care our patients receive both in primary care and specialty medicine from all of our physicians," said Kaiser Permanente's Executive Medical Director, Jack Cochran, M.D. "While this excellence is something we see day in and day out in our medical offices, it means a great deal to have this recognition come from our peers," said Cochran. For more than a decade, 5280 magazine has randomly selected 4,000 physicians from the state's list of more than 6,000 metro area doctors. These physicians are asked to recommend other metro area doctors whom they would trust with their own health or the health of a loved one. The survey lists physicians according to the hospitals where they practice, not their offices. It is an honor for Kaiser Permanente to have nine of its physicians listed on this influential survey. Kaiser Permanente is a non-profit health plan and the largest private health care provider in Colorado. For the second year in a row, the National Committee for Quality Assurance has rated Kaiser Permanente Colorado among the top ten accredited health care organizations in the country for clinical quality. Kaiser Permanente cares for more than 417,000 members in the Denver/Boulder and Colorado Springs areas. Kaiser Permanente physicians and care teams focus on prevention as well as curing disease, all in an effort to help patients live well and thrive.
