Kaiser Permanente to open clinic in Ken Caryl neighborhood

Denver, CO – Kaiser Permanente Colorado is expanding its presence in southwest Denver, opening the Ken Caryl Medical Offices in the winter of 2004. The health care delivery organization promises members convenience with their care. With the Denver metro population growing significantly in this area, we recognized the need to grow there as well.

Physicians and medical staff at the Ken Caryl Medical Offices expect to serve 30,000 Kaiser Permanente members. The clinic will offer primary care, radiology, laboratory and pharmacy services. Specialty care will be provided at the Franklin Medical Offices in Denver. Internist Fernando Arroyo is the physician in charge of the new clinic.

"I live in Ken Caryl and am excited about being able to bring more health care services to my neighbors and friends. We often say 'if only' medical care was more convenient, more readily available in the neighborhood. Kaiser Permanente now is making that happen," says Arroyo.

The medical team also will include a pediatrician and family practice physicians. More physicians and providers will join the team in the coming years. Kaiser Permanente members living in the south metro area can transition to the new medical offices. The closest Kaiser Permanente medical office, Southwest, will remain open. Patients wishing to transfer to Ken Caryl are welcome to do so.

The $11 million medical office is designed by Davis Partnership architects and built by Adolfson and Peterson contractors. The clinic is located at 7600 Shaffer Parkway, Littleton, CO, 80127. Questions on the Ken Caryl Medical Offices or from people wishing to become Kaiser Permanente members can be taken at 303-338-3800.

Kaiser Permanente is a non-profit organization and the largest private health care provider in Colorado. Kaiser Permanente cares for more than 414,000 members in the Denver/Boulder and Colorado Springs areas. In the Denver/Boulder area, care is provided by a coordinated team of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, mental health counselors and physical therapists. In Colorado Springs, Kaiser Permanente cares for its members through an affiliated network of community-based physicians and other health care providers.
